The Rock Czar prides himself at being more mainstream than indie yet more indie than mainstream. The combination yields a unique blend of music that is sophisticated and yet is not arrogant enough to boycott anything labeled as mainstream. In terms of content this means that you will not be getting snobbish, overly intellectual and boring picks a la pitchforkmedia but you will not be subjected to the crap you see on billboard. The Rock Czar seperates the groundbreakng, catchy indie rock hits from the avant garde nonsense and searches through the sea of homogenous BS in mainstream music to uncovers the hidden gems. This site will be perfect for those who have lost faith in radio rock but can’t quite embrace pretentiousness of indie rock. Additionally, the Rock Czar outsources list-making duties to a trusted core of experts in the pop, hip hop, and RnB genres. Oh and comments are much appreciated, even the critical ones.
