Man...I agree that all of these guys are great singers..but every single one of them would sound flat on any Ozzy song. No else in rock and roll can hit those notes without screaming through snot filled gurgled throuts. Ozzy is always clear every note....No Shite...MTV voted him as #1...I'm not even much of an Ozzy fan but I agree.
I felt estranged when i didn't found Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain. I thought everybody knew what strong voices and exciting performance they were entitled to
robert plant, freddie mercury, bruce dickinson, michael matijevik, sebastian bach, geoff tate, bon scott, syd barret, roger waters, axl rose, steven tylor, mark slaughter, ozzy osbourne, gene simmons, don henley, god there's so many more i know i'm forgetting.
not one of them is in there. its people like you who claim to be a fan of rock music and destroy its image.
layne has the best range out of any vocalist ive come across and could easily match ozzy's voice... he is good at the top.. puts the most feeling into his music.. but axel rose, plant, and cobian should be on that list too.. plz
Chester Bennington from Linkin Park should be on this list. His vocal range is amazing. Most guys can't hit the notes he can yet he could also sing in a low note. Chester is one of the illest vocalists of all time.
you're kidding me right? you need to get out more. No guys can hit what he does? Okay i'm sorry, but yes they can. The highest I've heard him go in full voice is a high A. I could name at least 6 singers that go 3/4 to 1 full octave above him in the same register.
are you trying to say best or greatest? I mean, I am a clasically trained singer and love rock music..if this is going by skill, then you failed miserably. I can only spot one guy on there who would deserve to be on there (Cornell, maybe).

I actually think Axl Rose is the best vocalist but i also think the vocalists for Soundgarden and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are cool too. I have to say the creator of these lists must sure like Alice In Chains a lot.

the list is alright but i think you should get john lennon off there add someone from the 90's then change the name to the Best Rock Vocalists of the 90's...then make 60's 70's 80's and 00's as well that way more lists ...and these classic rock fuckers cant bitch anymore (well they can but you know)

Like Sin Blin writes, this is a great list of 90's rockers, but the great vocalists go way back to Jerry Lee, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan (okay... point taken), Lennon, Garcia, and on... There are lots more lists possible.
And what about women rockers.
I'll tell you where Axl Rose is... he is #1 on my list of most annoying lead vocalists... Steven Tyler isn't too far behind. They both suck tremendously.

Chino Moreno is THE Male voice. I have never heard anyone put that amount of emotion into their voice and still have it sound really pretty in the next breathe. Even his screams are beautiful, layered, and filled with specific emotion. I admire his bravery and the things he is willing to experiment with.
