What kind of folk rock list is this supposed to be? Quite obviously folk rock combines elements of folk music and rock music to create a new genre. Folk rock is about tight vocal harmonies and an approach to electrical instruments that is free of added effects.

Now of you want to know the biggest names of folk rock in the 1990s well I'll tell you that it was:

You also have Jeff Buckley in there twice so where is Halleujah? A mistake like this on a wesbite that is claiming to be the music authority centre is unbelievable.

Alice In Chains are folk rock, you say? You have got to be joking they are dominantly grunge. And you say that they are your favorite band, get out of here. If they were your favorite you would know that they are mostly grunge as well as alternative and heavy metal. And Nirvana? You are just playing around right?

Yes, I've made this list with a fairly loose definition of folk rock. You are right, I know that AIC is a grunge band. However that has never stopped a band from writing a folk rock song. Everybody knows that folk rock songs need not be written by folk rock bands. Just listen to the songs on my list and you will understand that. Another thing, some of the artists you noted as exemplars of 90s folk rock were far from their heydays in the 90s (Leonard Cohen made one album and Gordon Lightfoot made two during the decade). So try not to be so quick to judge this list buddy.

I'm not a huge Pearl Jam fan but in my opinion, "Elderly Woman..." is the best folk-rock song of the '90s bar none. Very surprised Pearl Jam isn't even represented on this list. Also "Constant Craving" by k.d. Lang is modern folk at its most outstanding.

some of these are very odd, i agree with whoever said alice in chains shouldn't be on there...i mean they are one of my fave bands but they are deffs not folksy at all!!
