wanting early 90s to come back - Early 90's one hit Grunge ty IP:208.23.29.2 | 2007-12-03 22:15:07
Back in the late 80's and early 90's, there were a bunch of Grunge-type songs that just disappeared into music neverland. Do you have a list of these anywhere? I am looking at your other lists and will download a bunch that I see. Hoping to find all those lost gems that I know were out there but cant find.

How will I know if you create it?

The Rock Czar - hmmm IP:71.179.248.19 | 2007-12-04 10:59:58
I'll see about what I can do... perhaps I'll make a list like "top ten forgotten grunge classics..." or something of the like. Either way, keep checking back regularly, and you should see it.
sultanOFskunk420 - Not one hit wonders IP:67.184.61.215 | 2007-12-05 11:30:47
so many of these bands had more then one hit. . . Toadies - Possum kingdom, butthole surfers - shame of life, Soul asylum - misery, Local H - hands on the bible, all the kids are right, Cracker - Euro trash girl, Fastball - Fire escape

Check it out sometime
The Rock Czar - Semantics IP:68.48.35.138 | 2007-12-05 15:32:37
First of all, thanks for the heads up on the toadies, I totally meant to put Possum Kingdom, I have no idea why I put Tyler (although its a great song as well). As for the others, they never came even close to repeating the success of the songs that I listed.
wow - dishwalla IP:66.91.36.48 | 2007-12-07 13:36:39
um they are not one hit wonders their cd is good and their best song is charlie browns parents i think
The Rock Czar - Agreed IP:68.48.35.138 | 2007-12-12 00:59:40
Dude, you are right the CD and band are good. However, according to the masses, Dishwalla is a one hit wonder. The world is cruel.

Rob - Something's off IP:72.71.109.144 | 2007-12-09 13:10:30
"The Way" shouldn't be on there. Fastball also had "Fire Escape" and "Out of My Head" which did quite well.

Inaccurate
chester - huh?? IP:81.108.114.147 | 2007-12-09 13:40:05

^^Rob=Idiiot - re: huh?? IP:69.140.33.215 | 2007-12-09 13:47:00
Hey rob can you read. It's according to US chartss. The blur had one hit. The verve were a good band and should have had more than one hit but didn't. Read the whole chart before you make stupid comments like that.
A - Not quite IP:208.107.148.89 | 2007-12-27 07:09:02
Gerry Rafferty also had "Right Down The Line" and "Stuck in the Middle With You" (with Stealer's Wheel).
Kris - Hendrix? IP:24.107.54.40 | 2007-12-28 01:00:47
In all actuality, Jimi Hendrix's only "hit" was All Along the Watchtower; he should be up there!
big red machine - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida IP:208.251.254.6 | 2007-12-31 22:02:07
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly has to be in the Top 5. It is pretty much mandatory!
The Hep IP:124.157.94.135 | 2008-01-09 21:41:58
Jimi Hendrix?!?! Are you retarded?
How bout voodoo chile or the wind cries mary. dont tell me theyre not hits cause they were both in the top 10
russel IP:70.168.108.26 | 2008-01-18 13:45:38
tubthumper by chumbawumba should probably be here...i would disagree with the toadies being a 1-hit wonder...tyler and i come from the water were never huge but if u think about it, the band was never huge...i think u'd hafta consider them to have 3 hits or 0....not 1
Dr. NRG - You need to listen to more mus IP:201.170.178.227 | 2008-01-26 02:39:21
These bands have had a lot more hits than you credit them for. And the U.S. charts are sorry excuse for reference.

Dead Or Alive= Brand New Lover, Come Home With Me Baby,Lover Comeback, Turn Around & Count To 10, Something In My House, My Heart Goes Bang.
Simple Minds= Alive & Kicking, Santified, Promised You A Miracle
Spandau Ballet= ,Gold, Only When You Leave, To Make a Long Story Short
Marcy Playground= It's Saturday, Bye Bye, St. Joe On The School Bus

If you wanna play that tune then you missed this classics

Split Enz- I Got You
Fountains Of Wayne- Stacy's Mom
Stroke 9- Little Black Backpack
The Knack- My Sharona
Devo- Whip It
jonng - few i dissagree IP:76.177.29.6 | 2008-01-29 07:14:37
wallflowers had a few others - heros (godzilla soundtrack)
the verve - lucky man (you actually have it on one of your other lists)
and of course the ones listed above by the toadies and soul asylum
yeah - yeah IP:72.226.217.128 | 2008-02-02 00:32:20

CLau - Wallflowers IP:76.110.7.189 | 2008-02-08 21:03:15

Lenny "alfonso de medici" Ba IP:140.233.206.67 | 2008-02-21 22:31:57
what about the hold steady? for zero hit wonder! ICEBURN!!
... - blur!? IP:125.25.158.50 | 2008-02-22 01:57:03
How can Blur be a one hit wonder? They've got tons of hits.
horsebox - obviously... IP:82.6.170.44 | 2008-02-27 05:21:05
There's no difference between a europe wide success story and an american 1 hit wonder.

shallow. where is the capacity to think "Wow! that's awesome, i might go see what else they've done".

I hear 1 good album and i want to hear their discography!
Bob - stinky list IP:65.96.44.49 | 2008-02-28 13:53:43
Blur's not a one-hit wonder
sure they only had one "charting" hit song
but one-hit wonder implies that they had one good song and went into the abyss for the rest of their career, not doing much good music. Blur churned out plenty of great music unlike Verve or Eifel 65 or whoever the fuck is on this list...
The Rock Czar - My Definition IP:68.48.35.138 | 2008-02-28 14:42:10
Read the bottom of the chart... it's based on US charts... we all know that Blur bombed in the US, thus we know them as a one hit wonder.

P.S. Blur does suck... Song #2 really is their only good song

Conor - Hendrix IP:69.130.64.200 | 2008-02-28 13:55:15
Yes Jimi was a musical god. Yes he was legendary.

And yes he was a one hit wonder.

He was not around long enough to have another hit.

His songs are incredibly popular now, but have never made it into hit status other than All Along the Watchtower.

Sadly it is true though.

Just because he was incredible doesn't stop the fact that he was a one-hit wonder by the standard definition.
Alan - When in rome IP:129.71.66.41 | 2008-03-07 00:40:51
Glad to see this song is on here. It should be higher though. It's had a few covers (Anberlin and New Found Glory).
Matt IP:203.184.53.114 | 2008-03-07 04:55:55
If its based on US charts only then the US sure are missing out on heaps of good music. Take Natalie Imbruglia. Sure Torn was her biggest song but there have been heaps more of hers to do well, most notably 'Wrong Impression' which might have outdone 'Torn'
Daniel IP:77.101.144.134 | 2008-03-08 18:08:13
Blur, What the shit?

Have you even listened to park life? One of the greatest british albums ever made.
Kevin From Crestview FL - Suggestion IP:71.48.251.206 | 2008-03-11 00:16:01
Ultravox - Reap The Wild Wind

Hey guys, this is an One HitWonder, not One Good Song Wonder
