CJ - You didn't even get all the n IP:69.12.145.217 | 2007-05-31 19:02:10
First of all, BOSTON's MORE THAN A FEELING is not the best classic rock song of all time.

Secondly, Cats In The Cradle is by HARRY Chapin, not henry.
Admin - Oops IP:68.33.149.174 | 2007-05-31 19:15:11
Ya, my bad on the typo. If More Than a Feeling isn't the best song than what is... gimme some feedback instead of straight up dissing the list.
Jess IP:69.118.192.144 | 2007-10-06 02:29:30
personally I think Led Zeppelin - stairway to Heaven or Queen - Bohemian Rhapsoy should be number 1.
MCLOVIN - YOU GUYS NEED A LIFE IP:75.84.227.80 | 2007-11-15 21:48:15
YOU GUYS NEED A LIFE TO ARGUE ABOUT THE BEST SONG OF ALL TIME IS LIKE SAYING "I DON'T HAVE A LIFE" EVERYONE WILL THINK DIFFERENT AND NOBODY WILL AGREE WILL ONE SONG BECAUSE EVERYONES OPINION IS DIFFERENT SO SHUT UP ALREADY

Here's a few suggestions in the classic rock catagory...

Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Knocking On Heavens Doors - Bob Dylan
Anything by the Who or Stones is awesome.
Aerosmtih is good too! Personally, I don't consider Imagine by LEnnon classic rock, but music is opinion
Dr. NRG - suggestions IP:201.170.178.145 | 2008-02-18 14:41:46
You had the right idea with Cheap Trick's Surrender, but should definately be in Top 10. Comon man, That's a Rock Anthem and BTW where is Alice Cooper's School's Out?
Joe - No way IP:130.126.69.12 | 2008-02-21 13:18:11

Classic Rock?
Where is KISS, ELP, URIAH HEEP, KAYAK, STONE...
And, in my opinion BEATLES not in that category, its must be in influential rock song with ELVIS, HENDRIX, JANIS, DYLAN...
BONEZ - it runs through my veins IP:24.148.125.26 | 2008-02-27 17:55:46
ok,first of all...Stairway to heaven is ALWAYS #1!Second thing...Neil Diamond?
Third thing..If STYX is on there,it would be come sail away, not renegade.Forth thing...Where are the WHO & the Stones?
Fifth thing...The Beach Boys? Everybody has the right to their own opinion of
things, but when it comes to the tops of classic rock..you either know it,or your just guessing. Rock on!

Terrible list, you have no taste, you're perception is clouded. I don't like being mean, but if you're going to have a Rock website, know a little about Rock. Classic rock is pre-1975 you could argue? Anything before the downfall of progressive rock, I suppose. You have forgotten Brian Eno, you have forgotten Pink Floyd, you have forgotten Grateful Dead. And again, you have forgotten Brian Eno! The mastermind behind Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, Cluster, I could go on. He deserves something.
Damn The Man IP:72.213.201.129 | 2008-04-01 22:45:18
Supertramp is a little high on the list. I don't see any Molly Hatchet, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, or Bad Company. These bands were huge in the 70's.
Damn The Man - Not even Close IP:72.213.201.129 | 2008-04-01 22:50:41
This list is way off. First Supertramp is way to far up the list, which I don't even think it belongs in the top 30. Bands like Molly Hatchet, AC/DC, Bad Company, and Lynyrd Skynyrd were huge in the 70's and Sweet home Alabama is the only song that cracked the list? Wow...

Interesting chart. I've been looking at all of your charts and have been very interested in your number ones. i have one suggestion. Why don't you make a "worst of the 90s" chart?
The Rock Czar - Good Idea... IP:69.251.249.42 | 2008-04-18 15:36:54
It's a good idea... it would be tough to make though. I don't keep a lot of bad songs on my iTunes.... If I make it I will probably limit it to rock songs. I will look into it for sure. Thanks for the idea man!

RicG - Too Young? IP:71.123.232.209 | 2008-04-27 14:39:29
My problem with this list (and I don't think it properly represents the best of the period) is that it seems so random and is missing some of the generally acknowledged best classic rock tunes (eg Like A Rolling Stone, Light My Fire, Satisfaction, etc.) and includes some songs, while popular, aren't even the best songs of those performers (Forever in Blue Jeans, Telephone Line) I wonder if Rock Czar is young. In that case, the list may have legitimacy as someone looking back on an era they weren't a part of, and with a "modern" sensitivity. I think a lot of what makes a song great is the context of the times in which it came out - was it a trailblazer and did it strike a new or unique chord with the public? You had to be there (or did a lot of homework).
The Rock Czar - He is IP:129.2.137.71 | 2008-04-28 09:51:06
The Rock Czar is quite young... I actually agree with you completely. But I think my perspective is interesting and useful. I think not being part of an era eliminates some biases and makes it easier to judge music purely based on its quality and ability to resonate with future generations. Ya this list may ignore some important, era-defining songs, but the songs it does include are immortal, and resonate with people not in their 40s and 50s.

Klifferd - Definitely Queen. IP:24.57.35.62 | 2008-04-27 16:59:38
I'll have to agree. Bohemian Rhapsody would be my pick for sure. All the different sounds blended perfectly to make one song. It would take pure musical genius to come up with something like that. Freddie Mercury was the man. Good list though, all great songs.
NorthBound IP:89.241.183.26 | 2008-05-10 21:19:34
A good list, some odd songs on there but mehh.

Johnny B. Good
Walk This Way
Paranoid
Heaven's on Fire
Live & Let Die
etc.

You've got Pink Floyd here what about Another Brick In The Wall?
Aaron IP:74.71.86.226 | 2008-06-24 10:18:57
these are all good songs, but here's some songs i'd definitely put in there:
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones
Baba O'Riley - The Who
Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hotel California - Eagles

given, there's way too many to list. but i'm suprised there's no stones or who on here at all. i mean, keith moon was easily one of the greatest drummers of all time along with john bonham, and the rolling stones were so influential in rock it's not even funny
Aaron IP:74.71.86.226 | 2008-06-24 17:27:18
my bad hotel california is on here
but it's hotel california
there's no of
